Call for Scientific Papers on Gluten-Free Beer

AOECS is inviting the global research community to contribute scientific papers addressing key uncertainties in the analysis of hydrolysed gluten in products like beer.

Focus Areas

This initiative seeks to improve the safety of gluten-free foods made with hydrolysed gluten, with a particular emphasis on beer.

We aim to drive progress in:

  • Enhancing gluten detection methods
  • Developing accurate calibrants for peptide analysis
  • Advancing clinical studies on gluten immunogenicity

Why This Call for Papers?

Current testing methods for hydrolysed gluten-free foods, including the R5 competitive ELISA, have significant limitations and high costs, hindering widespread industry adoption. More research is required to validate methods such as LC-MS/MS and to explore innovative analytical and calibration approaches.

Timeframe and Participation

This call is open to research groups focusing on gluten-free beer and its implications for coeliac disease. Preference will be given to submissions endorsed by an AOECS National Coeliac Society. National Coeliac Societies conducting research in this area are also encouraged to participate.
