Floris van Overveld, who also holds the vice chair of the AOECS board, took on a real challenge when he set out to cycle 600 km through the Unesco World Heritage in the Netherlands in just two days on 7 and 8 May, 2022.
The weather conditions could have been better, but Floris managed to complete the whole run despite the rain and rough headwind. The reward was not only a lot of fresh sea air, but also over 4 000 € to support research on coeliac disease.
̶ There are many enthusiastic and committed celiac researchers in the Netherlands. To support them, I will cycle through all the Unesco World Heritage in the Netherlands in 2 days on 7 and 8 May… so we can get that autoimmune disease under control. And maybe even help the world, says Floris van Overveld when explaining his reason for doing this challenge.
